This sculpture is inspired by the spikey dahlias I grew last year.  They were a deep red, this is a glossy soft white.  The individual spikes are hand formed and attached to a thrown porcelain base.  
 
This sculpture is approximately 15cm in diameter and 3.5cm deep.
